Bruges, Belgium

Bruges, Belgium is unlike any city I’ve been to before. Since Belgium has such little coastline, you know that of course, that’s where I end up! I always have to be near the water, and it’s definitely a city to write home about. Especially if you like history and medieval times, this is your place!

Minnewater Park

Though it’s not the ocean, Minnewater Lake is a beautiful and quiet body of water that has some beautiful buildings to see as well! Whether you want to have a picnic, go for a walk, or just sightsee, this lake is a perfect little getaway that will make you feel like you were transported back in time.

Old Chocolate House

Since Belgium is known for their chocolate, going to a restaurant dedicated to the food is kind of necessary. Old Chocolate House does a great job of artistically crafted their dishes in a way that compliments the chocolate so well without being so overpowering. Sweet tooth or not, you should definitely check this place out!

Markt Square

This market is necessary when travelling to Bruges—it has food, architecture, and so much history attached to it! You’ll be flooded with so many vendors filled with food and trinkets that it’s easy to stay for hours. Along with having everything you can imagine and more, the Markt Square is also a great place to people watch!

Canal Trip

Canals are common to see in Bruges, and if you want to see the town from a different point of view, than the canal rides are perfect for you! These allow you to sit back, relax, and take in the beauty that is around you from historical buildings to sculptures.
