DAY

Hollywood to Venice

So you wake up in L.A....

What's the plan? We decided to hit the ground running. With a packed docket and plenty of coffee, we dove in.

Gotta start with a great breakfast, right? We hit Met Her At A Bar, a ridiculously delicious brunch spot with something for everyone. Then, we were off to get as close to the Hollywood sign as possible (yes, a bit of hiking was required). Bradley's not a big one for the tourist traps, so we snapped our pictures and headed on - to Santa Monica! Lunch was a shared selection of happy hour dishes and misc. beverages. The pier was bustling and colorful, and the park was filled with buskers. Onwards to Malibu, we got a bit of the quiet we were all craving after being in the busier areas all morning.

On the way back, we may or may not (definitely did) stop the car to snap pictures in front of the meme houses.
Finally, we watched the sun set in Venice, checked out some vintage shops, and headed back to our Airbnb - void of energy and filled with memories.

hip neighborhood cafe serving everything from thai omelettes to overnight oats to rich french toast to unreal chicken and waffles... need i say more?

The obvious one, maybe, but checking out this iconic l.a. landmark really should be on your list.

The Hollywood Sign

King & Queen Cantina

located in santa monica, this walk-in only taco spot has it all:pork belly bites, stuffed oysters, crispy shrimp, and more. What we're saying is, you might need to walk off this delicious happy hour.

check it out

- Head over to santa monica to be overwhelmed by sites + sounds. Maybe you want to walk the pier and check out the vendors + crowds, or maybe you'd prefer laying out a blanket in the park and just relaxing.

- Up for a walk? take the bridge by the park and head North to see the iconic pink + black pair of meme houses.

- Drive up to malibu and choose one of the many beautiful state parks to walk onto the beach and enjoy the west coast ocean breeze.

- If you're up for it, dash back to venice before sunset to check out the skaters on art-adorned ramps and concrete, paying homage to the orginal home of skateboarding.

DAY

Melrose + Pasta

So you wake up in L.A.... again

To be honest? We had to take Day 2 a little easier. The plan: take a slow morning working from the Airbnb, head to Melrose to meet up with an old friend, and then have dinner at Met Her At A Bar, inspired by our perfect breakfast the morning before.

We walked Melrose Ave and enjoyed street art, a slice of pizza, and a bit of shopping, then headed back to clean up for dinner, which did not disappoint. I mean "hip neighborhood pasta bar" already promises a great time. And it was - the perfect wrap for our little L.A. stop on our California trip.

Melrose

a hot spot for shopping, dining, and entertainment, melrose is a fun little strip to check out with colorful murals, unique vintage shops and favorite brands, and even a little to-go beverage stop if you're craving a beer in the afternoon.
