Chicken Parmesan

Hey guys!

Here it is: a people-pleasing favorite, Chicken Parmesan is an essential comfort food you’ll be glad to have a go-to recipe for.

Ingredients

Four flattened chicken breasts

1/2 pound of shredded parmesan

2 cups of spicy red sauce (use this easy recipe)

flour for dredging

Italian bread crumbs for dredging

eggs for dredging 

Steps

  • Flatten out four chicken breasts, dredge each chicken breast first in the flour, then egg, then bread crumbs. (PS, remember dredging from my Culinary Vocab Guide? If not, take a quick read-over to refresh yourself on some common kitchen terms)
  • Heat oil (enough to coat the pan) on the stove to medium high heat. Then fry each side of the chicken for approximately 3-5 min until nice and golden brown 
  • Place the four pieces of fried, breaded chicken on a oven safe tray  
  • Pour heated spicy red sauce over top of chicken breast and topped with the generous portions of shredded parmesan – your chicken should be totally covered
  • Heat oven to broil, then place the tray on the top rack of the oven. At this point, just keep an eye on it to prevent the cheese from burning
  • Serve to your guests right out of the oven. I recommend pairing with a delicious salad, like my Papaya Salad!
