I’m here to share with you my go-to whole wheat bread recipe. It’s a perfect recipe to have on hand for gifts (the perfect housewarming gesture), or to elevate your favorite sandwich recipes. Try it with my Egg Salad or Tuna Salad recipes for perfect easy lunches!
Ingredients
11 ounces whole wheat flour
6 ounces AP flour
15 grams instant dry active yeast
1 teaspoon sea salt
9 fluid ounces of tempered water
2 tablespoons EVOO
optional ingredients: chili flakes, shredded cheese, fresh herbs, nuts, seeds, raison, craisins, etc.!
Steps
First, measure out all your ingredients
Pour your tempered water (½ as hot as the tap goes, ½ as cold as the tap goes)
Choose to make this recipe as is or add your favorite optional ingredients
Place all dry ingredients in a bowl and whisk together
Then, add water and oil, mix together until you form a ball
Dust your counter with a bit of flour and knead your dough for about 10 min.
Next, place dough in a bowl with a bit of oil, wrap tightly, and leave in dry area for two hours
Preheat oven to 425-450 degrees (depending on your over)
Form dough into a loaf, place on a baking sheet, and cook for 25-35 min
